- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.
- Do not receive any other laser treatments, waxing, or chemical peels on the treatment area.
- Discontinue retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, hydroquinone, and any exfoliating or irritating skincare products.
- Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores—a prophylactic antiviral (like Valtrex) may be prescribed to begin 1–2 days prior.
✅ 3–5 Days Before Treatment:
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen, and vitamin E, fish oil, or other blood-thinning supplements, unless medically necessary.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking, which may delay healing.
- Stay well hydrated.
✅ Day of Treatment:
- Arrive with clean, dry skin—no makeup, lotion, or sunscreen.
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.
- A topical anesthetic will be applied prior to the procedure for comfort.
🔹 POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

- Redness, swelling, and a warm, sunburn-like sensation.
- Skin may feel tight or mildly sore.
- Oozing or slight crusting is normal for more aggressive treatments.

🚫 Avoid:
- Touching, rubbing, or picking the treated skin.
- Hot water, steam, sweating, and intense exercise.
- Makeup until approved by your provider (usually after 5–7 days).
- Sun exposure—use SPF 30+ when cleared to resume sunscreen.
Days 2–7:
- Peeling, dryness, and rough texture are normal—do not exfoliate or pick.
- Continue applying post-treatment moisturizer/barrier ointment as instructed.
- Gently cleanse with lukewarm water and a mild, non-foaming cleanser.
- Avoid tight clothing or hats that may rub the area.
