What is BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy?
BioTe® Bio-Identical hormone therapy is a treatment for aging women that restores a hormonal balance within your body. Throughout your life, you slowly lose the hormones that keep you vivacious. If you’re a woman, you don’t produce as much estrogen and progesterone as you did at a younger age.
With BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy, you can replace these hormones with slow-release natural hormones in the form of a pellet that your physician, Dr. Bhanot, places under the skin on your buttock. You won’t notice a difference immediately, but you start to see changes in your well-being after about four weeks with the pellet under your skin.
What does BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy treat?
Hormone imbalances cause more havoc in your body than you might realize. During menopause, a midlife stage of womanhood that happens when your ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesterone entirely, you might notice symptoms like hot flashes, memory decline, vaginal dryness, and trouble sleeping. Hormone therapy can treat all of these symptoms and more.
Additionally, research shows that BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy may also reduce symptoms of:
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Heart disease
• Thyroid conditions
• Parkinson’s disease
• Metabolic syndrome
At a consultation, Dr. Bhanot and her team reviews the possible benefits of using BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy to restore the hormones in your changing body.
How does BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy differ from synthetic hormone therapy?
When you use BioTe Bio-Identical hormone therapy instead of synthetic hormone therapy, you can be sure of exactly what’s in your pellets. The hormones in each pellet are derived from plant hormones that identically match those in your body. On the other hand, synthetic hormones are produced in a lab and not chemically identical to your natural hormones.
Since they’re not exactly the same, synthetic hormones aren’t very predictable in your body and can lead to new symptoms and side effects. This isn’t the case with BioTe Bio-Identical hormones. You and Dr. Bhanot know precisely what to expect, and they’re almost always effective in making you feel better.
If you’d like to replenish your hormones and ease into the next stage of your life, call Dr. Bhanot or book a Biote Bio-Identical hormone therapy consultation online today.
Laser Hair Removal
Vectus Laser Hair Removal:
Laser Hair Reduction literally gets to the root of the problem. With the Vectus we can provide effective, permanent hair reduction anywhere on your body. Unlike other laser hair removal systems, the Vectus laser is seeking hair and not pigment so it is safe to be used on all skin types. The treatments are fast and mess-free with lasting results. Best of all, the hair does not have to be grown out for the treatment and it is overall less expensive than shaving or waxing/sugaring.
How does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The Vectus laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin and into the hair follicle. The follicle absorbs the energy and is destroyed; unable to produce hair again. Since our hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are necessary to achieve the desired results. We are trying to catch the hair in the Anagen Phase or the active phase of hair growth.
The Vectus Hair Removal Treatment
You will come to each visit clean-shaven because we want all the laser energy to be delivered to the root. During the treatment, the provider will guide the laser hand piece across the area being treated. The hand piece is delivering contact cooling to the surface of your skin while emitting a beam of laser energy which is absorbed by the hair follicles and converted to heat. The heat disables the hair follicle from future growth while the contact cooling maximizes your comfort during the treatment. When clients describe the procedure, their sensations range from tingling to the snap of a rubber band.
Advantages of the Vectus Laser
The Vectus laser offers two hand piece sizes which the provider will select based on the treatment area. This allows us to treat large body areas very quickly which increases client comfort. But, we can also get into smaller hard to reach areas. The Vectus also has the industry’s only melanin reader. The Skintel Melanin Reader measures the skin melanin index at each treatment. This index is used to determine the ideal setting for each individual client increasing the safety and results for each session.
How many treatments will I need?
Because our hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are recommended to achieve your desired results. Depending on the body area, we space the treatments 4 – 6 weeks apart. This timing is critical to effective treatment. Remember, we are trying to catch the hair in its anagen phase and not all hairs are on the same cycle. Other factors that influence the number of treatments include hair color, texture, body area, and skin type. Typically, you can expect 6 – 12 sessions. During your life, you may see additional hair growth in the area treated based on changes in hormones and/or prescriptive medications. These hormonal changes can stimulate new hair growth in dormant follicles. So, we do advise our clients that future maintenance treatments might be needed.
What is Botox:
Botox is primarily used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. It is a purified form of the botulinum toxin, but is a safe, FDA approved treatment that has been used for several decades now.
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, also known as expression lines. By blocking the nerve signals, muscles in the injection site become temporarily paralyzed, thus softening or eliminating wrinkles from the area. These results can last up to three months, and the treatment takes about five minutes to complete.
Botulinum Toxin or Botox is the most popular nonsurgical procedure in the U.S. with over 4.5 million of them performed last year!
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
Botox injections have to be administered by a qualified medical professional. The procedure begins with an initial consultation where the outcomes and expectations are discussed. You would be asked to quit smoking and alcohol two to three weeks before the treatment to get maximum results from the treatment. Dr. Nassif may ask you to stop certain medications including aspirin and other anti-inflammatory medications to reduce chances of excessive bleeding and bruising at least two weeks before the treatment.
The injections and the amount of Botox needed are determined by the medical professional. After administration into the problem areas, the movement of the muscles in that area are frozen by the toxin. The injections themselves take a few minutes to administer and there is no requirement of a general or local anesthetic. You could undergo the treatment during your lunch break as usually the appointment lasts for less than 15 minutes. There is no downtime and you can return to work immediately.
The results are visible within 72 hours although it could take seven days to obtain maximum effect. Dr. Bhanot may ask you to follow up to review the response to Botox injections. It is common to see a partial response to the first set of Botox injections while complete muscle relaxation is obtained after the second or third set of injections.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
Generally, you are an ideal candidate if you are an adult and in overall good health with moderate to severe wrinkles around the eyes, neck or forehead.
Botox injections are not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, or for patients who have certain neuromuscular disorders like Lambert-Eaton syndrome, myasthenia gravis, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s). People who are allergic to human albumin should also not undergo Botox treatment.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. More than 1 million men and women annually have choose this popular facial rejuvenation treatment, which can be a cost-effective way to look younger without surgery or downtime.
Learn about injectable dermal fillers:
Did you know that many visible signs of aging can be traced back to volume loss? As facial tissues thin out, lines become etched around the nose and mouth and cheeks look a little hollow. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to help smooth wrinkles, plump the lips, and restore a more youthful appearance.
CoolSculpting is a revolutionary new treatment that actually freezes away your fat without exercise or dieting. It was developed by scientists from Harvard University and Massachusetts General Hospital when they realized that cold could target fat cells. This lead to the idea of using CoolSculpting as a way to kill fat cells from undesired area.
The procedure works by freezing the unwanted fat cells. Eventually, this causes the fat cell to actually die. Your body processes the fat and disposes of the dead cells. The procedure is safe because it doesn’t harm any other tissue, such as skin or muscle, and it is FDA-approved.
Giving birth is a beautiful experience, and getting older is just part of life. However, they can also affect your vagina, reducing elasticity and tightness, which can lead to other problems like bladder leakage and dryness. Instead of turning to invasive, painful surgical procedures, consider ThermiVa. This exciting procedure can drastically improve the look and functionality of your vagina without pain or downtime. If you are curious about ThermiVa, learn a bit about it now, and decide if it is the right procedure for you.
WHAT IS THERMIVA?
Childbirth and natural aging cause the vagina to lose its tightness inside and outside, which can affect your self-esteem and vaginal well-being. Not only does this affect the appearance of your vagina, but it can cause other problems too, such as bladder leakage, dryness, infection and decreased ability to achieve orgasm. ThermiVa is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure to retighten the labia and vagina.
The procedure uses radiofrequencies, which lightly heat the tissue. The heat is minimal enough to not cause discomfort. These radiofrequencies promote the natural development of collagen by your body, which tightens the area without the use of a scalpel. The technology is actually used for many different areas of the body, such as the neck, arms, breasts, stomach, etc. However, ThermiVa is specifically for vaginal tightening.
WHY HAVE A THERMIVA PROCEDURE?
ThermiVa is a great way to rejuvenate your labia and vagina without pain or downtime, and there are a lot of benefits of choosing this procedure. For starters, the procedure only takes about 15 to 30 minutes and there is no prepping before treatment, so you can just pop in, have the procedure and leave. Plus, during that short time, you can have both your labia majora and vagina treated. Some competitors can only treat one or the other. Plus, the procedure is extremely effective with a success rate of over 95 percent.
Another big benefit is that it is a non-surgical procedure, so you don’t have to worry about scars, pain or the side effects of surgery, such as blood clots and infection. The procedure can also help prevent bladder leakage, and may even improve your ability to achieve orgasm. ThermiVa can also treat vaginal dryness and infections by promoting natural, healthy moisture. You can have ThermiVa as soon as six weeks after giving birth and between pregnancies, so you don’t have to wait until you’re done having kids.
During the procedure, the doctor uses a single-use wand to perform the treatment, so you don’t have to worry about infection or disease. If you are having your labia treated, the doctor will run the wand over your labia. You will notice a warming sensation, but it is a comfortable heat and not painful.
If you choose to have your vagina treated, the doctor will insert the wand inside your vagina to access the tissue. The doctor may need to move the wand around, so don’t be alarmed. Again, you will notice a heating sensation, but it is not painful. Some patients report that it feels like a massage with heat. After the procedure, you can return to your regular activities, and your doctor will tell you when to come back for retreatment.
