Pre- & Post-Care Instructions
Hair Restoration with Ultra™ Laser
Pre-Treatment Instructions
To prepare for your KeraLase treatment, please follow these guidelines:
✅ Clean Hair – Wash your hair thoroughly the night before or morning of your appointment. Hair must be free of styling products, oils, or dry shampoo.
✅ Sun Protection – Avoid direct sun exposure to the scalp for at least 1 week before treatment. Wear a hat or use SPF if you will be outdoors.
✅ No Irritating Products – Refrain from using retinoids, acids, or harsh shampoos on the scalp for 3–5 days prior.
✅ Hydrate – Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin responds better to treatment.
✅ Avoid Anti-Inflammatories – If possible, avoid NSAIDs (like Advil, ibuprofen) 48 hours before treatment, as they may blunt the inflammatory response needed for collagen stimulation.
What to Expect During Treatment
- A mild warmth or stinging sensation during the laser portion is normal.
- The KeraFactorMD serum will be massaged into your scalp after laser passes are completed.
- The entire session takes about 30 minutes.
Post-Treatment Instructions
Follow these carefully to optimize results:
🚫 Do Not Wash Hair for 24 Hours – This allows maximum absorption of the KeraFactor serum into the scalp.
✅ Avoid Sun Exposure – Continue avoiding sun on the scalp for at least 1 week post-treatment. Use a hat or scalp sunscreen as protection.
✅ Avoid Sweating & Heat – Refrain from heavy exercise, hot tubs, or saunas for 24–48 hours.
✅ Mild Shedding Is Normal – Some hair shedding may occur post-treatment due to the natural cycle (telogen phase) and is temporary.
✅ Do Not Use Harsh Products – Avoid alcohol-based scalp products, exfoliants, or anything irritating for 3–5 days post-treatment.
✅ Use KeraFactor Home Care – Apply the recommended home-use KeraFactor serum as directed by your provider for best results.
✅ Do Not Scratch or Pick – If mild flaking or itching occurs, avoid scratching the scalp to prevent irritation.
Ongoing Maintenance
- A series of 6 treatments, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, is typically recommended.
- Results build progressively over time and may continue improving for up to 6 months after the series.
- Maintenance sessions every 6–9 months are suggested for long-term support.
