Vascular Laser + Pigmented Lesions Treatment
Pre & Post-Care Instructions
Thank you for choosing us for your vascular laser treatment! To ensure the best results and minimize risks, please carefully follow these pre-treatment guidelines:
π 2 Weeks Before Your Appointment
- β Avoid Sun Exposure & Tanning Beds: Skin must not be sunburned or tanned. Use SPF 30+ daily.
- β Stop Self-Tanners: Discontinue use of any self-tanning products on the area being treated.
Β 7 Days Before Treatment
- β Avoid Blood Thinners (if approved by your physician): Includes aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E.
- β Discontinue Retinoids & Exfoliants on the treatment area.
π§΄ 24β48 Hours Before Treatment
- β Shave the Area (if applicable): Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams.
- β Avoid Alcohol and excessive caffeine.
- β No Makeup, Lotions, or Oils on the treatment area the day of your visit.
β οΈ Medical Conditions & Medications
- π Inform us if you have a history of cold sores, light sensitivity, or are taking antibiotics, Accutane, or photosensitizing medications.
ποΈ On the Day of Treatment
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to the treatment area.
- Arrive with clean, dry skin.
- Expect mild redness or swellingβthis is normal and temporary!
β¨ LASER POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
For Vascular & Benign Pigmented Lesions
π§ First 24β48 Hours:
- Redness, swelling, or hive-like bumps are normal. Apply cool compresses (10β15 min as needed).
- Cleanse with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water; pat dry.
- Do NOT pick, rub, or exfoliate β allow skin or darkened pigment to naturally shed.
- Use a soothing moisturizer (Aquaphor, Vanicream, or Cicalfate).
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours or until redness subsides.
π Sun Protection:
- Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks.
- Apply SPF 30+ starting 24 hours after treatment and reapply every 2 hours when outdoors.
- No tanning beds or self-tanners for 2β4 weeks.
π« Avoid:
- Hot tubs, saunas, or intense workouts for 24β48 hours.
- Harsh products (retinoids, exfoliants, acids) for 5β7 days or until skin heals.
π What to Expect:
- Vascular Lesions: Temporary graying or darkening; vessels fade over 7β14 days.
- Pigmented Lesions: Spots darken, then flake off in 5β10 days (face) or up to 3 weeks (body). Skin may look patchy as it heals.
π Call Us If You Notice:
- Blistering, pus, increased pain, or redness that worsens after 3 days.
- Healing delays or unusual reactions.
π Follow-Up:
Most patients need 1β3 sessions. Book your follow-up in 4β6 weeks to evaluate results.
