🔹 PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

To prepare your skin and reduce the risk of irritation, please follow these guidelines:

7 Days Before Treatment:

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanners and tanning beds).
  • Discontinue retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, and exfoliating products.
  • Avoid facial waxing, dermaplaning, or chemical peels.
  • Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores—antiviral medication may be needed.

3–5 Days Before Treatment:

  • Refrain from aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen, and other blood thinners unless medically necessary.
  • Avoid alcohol, which can increase the risk of bruising.
  • Stay hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine with gentle, non-irritating products.

Day of Treatment:

  • Arrive with a clean face—no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or skincare products.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry or accessories near the treatment area.
  • Let your provider know of any recent skin treatments, medications, or changes in health.

What to Expect After Treatment

It is normal to experience the following for 1–5 days post-treatment, depending on treatment intensity and skin sensitivity:

  • Redness or a flushed appearance (similar to a sunburn)
  • Swelling or mild pinpoint bleeding
  • Skin tightness or sensitivity
  • Mild peeling or flaking as the skin regenerates
  • Dryness or a “sandpaper” texture for a few days

Immediate Aftercare (First 24–48 Hours)

Do:

  • Use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water to cleanse the skin — pat dry, do not rub.
  • Apply a healing/hydrating serum or post-procedure product recommended by your provider (e.g., hyaluronic acid).
  • Keep skin hydrated with a non-comedogenic moisturizer.
  • Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even indoors.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure. Wear a hat or physical sunblock if outside.

🚫 Avoid:

  • Touching, picking, or scratching the treated area.
  • Makeup for the first 24 hours (or as directed by your provider).
  • Sweating, intense exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or steam rooms for 48 hours.
  • Exfoliants, acids (AHA/BHA), retinol, vitamin C, or other active skincare for 3–5 days.
  • Alcohol-based toners, facial waxing, or hair removal treatments in the treated area for 7–10 days.

Ongoing Care (Days 3–7)

  • Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing.
  • If dryness or flaking occurs, let it slough naturally — do not peel or exfoliate.
  • Reintroduce your regular skincare only once the skin feels calm and no longer sensitive.
  • Continue using SPF daily — sun protection is critical during the healing process.

Enhancing Results

  • A series of 3–6 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is typically recommended for optimal results.
  • Ask your provider about complementary skincare or growth factor serums to boost outcomes.
  • Adding Ultra Laser to the treatment can enhance the results, especially with fine lines, wrinkles + scarring.
